Newbury Road Club members are never more competitive than out of the saddle, focussed on its regular ‘pub quiz’. So it seemed when, on Friday 17 November at the Bowler’s Arms, 50 NRC members assembled in teams to pit their general and local knowledge against each other.
Our thanks to setters, Stuart and Lucy Hutchins, who conceived a hugely entertaining and cryptic quiz (Who knew that the centre of a Liquorish Allsort Catherine Wheel was called a Spog?). Our thanks also to the NRC Social Events Team for staging the event and to our hosts at the Bowler’s who provided great food and their customary warm welcome.
NRC will be back there after our Festive Morning Rides on Sunday 3rd December for mulled wine, bacon rolls and mince pies. We hope you can join us, sign up is on the NRC ride app: Spond.
And Rough Paper? The name of the winning team of course – a brainbox comprising; Jo Harrop, Nicky and Alan Ager, Jan Raymond and Sean Anderson, and Fraser and Anne Harding. Well done on bagging the top spot on the night!
